During the restoration process of all timber windows and doors the frames will be removed from the window box to be hand stripped of old paint and putty, before various levels of sanding and the repair of any damage and rot through the use of an epoxy resin and new hardwood. The window box and sill will also receive the same restoration process. Care is taken to remove and reuse original glass (if required) to keep the heritage look and feel.
When we restore timber windows, the frames, window box and sill are then expertly decorated, before the windows are refitted, replacing the sash cords, window furniture and rebalancing the windows.
With any restoration work draught proofing will be fitted as standard, maximising on window improvements whilst the windows are removed from the frames.
A timber window restoration with London & Herts Sash Windows will deliver a perfectly working window, which looks fantastic and as good as new
